Hello from Tanzania! I’m Claire, reporting from the Shade Campus, where incredible things are happening.
Right now, we’re in the midst of an exciting campaign called Growing Spaces. This campaign is about more than construction—it’s about growth. Growth in our student body. Growth in the impact of Shade School. And growth in the vision God has given us for this community.
Our Current Classrooms
Today, we have seven classrooms on campus. One block serves our youngest learners in the pre-primary levels: Baby Class, Middle Class, and Pre-Unit. The second block is home to our growing group of primary students in Grades 1 through 4.
And here’s the big news: we’ve officially filled every available classroom. That’s why this campaign matters so much.
What’s Next?
We’ve already broken ground on a new block of four additional classrooms—a huge step forward! But we need your help to close the funding gap and finish this project. These classrooms are key to allowing us to add Grades 5 and 6 in the coming years and to continue building out a full primary school.
Why It Matters
This expansion is about more than infrastructure. It’s about students like Happiness, one of our newest learners in the Baby Class. Her family never thought she’d go to school, let alone fit in, because of her albinism. But today, Happiness is thriving—making friends, learning her letters, and finding joy in a community where she is not just safe, but celebrated.
